*Carl Craig, Mala and Midland Discuss the Importance of Sound Systems with Joe Muggs*

More than ever before, the quality of sound has become a vital element to festivals across Europe. Dimensions has taken the time to speak to a few of our esteemed artists about their experiences with sound and the effect is has on their music.

Dimensions is a intimate festival on the beautiful coast of Croatia and packs a punch when it comes to sound systems. Carl Craig talks to us about some of the best settings he has encountered so far to hear music. Regarded as one of the leading names in Techno, Carl Craig tells us about his experiences with amplified sound and mentions the systems at Notting Hill Carnival.

With a background in Jamaican sound system culture, Mala leans towards the emotional connection between the correct frequencies and the people that absorb it. As Mala explains, a vital part of the equation is finding people that really care about sound and take the time to get all the right parts in place. This vital balance is often overlooked at clubs or large events and can have a detrimental effect on the performance of the DJ.

The sound systems at Dimensions are hand-picked and engineered by the same company that look after the main stage at Glastonbury Festival so expect to hear the very best sound. Funktion-One, a name most clubbers will be aware of will have a presence at Dimensions along with brands renowned for their quality. L-Acoustics , Martin Audio Longbow, Noise Control and Void make up the main bulk of the sound systems across Dimensions Festival this summer.
