“We are really looking forward to the Loft party, this a very special space.
Tim and I will also have a lot of space to play, it is rarer and rarer to be able
to take it from start to finish, the full roller-coaster…” Ivan Smagghe
2012 proved to be an amazing year for Loft studios, with its parties becoming something of a benchmark for Londoner’s with a taste for music from the underground. With clubbers having enjoyed music from a whole host of luminaries from across the spectrum of electronic music, including Ambivalent, Dyed Soundroom and Derrick Carter, the New Year has a lot to live up to. But fear not, we’ve got a stellar set of line-ups designed to help you through the cold, dark winter nights…
Friday, 25th January sees the French pairing of Ivan Smagghe and Tim Paris bring their collaborative project, It’s A Fine Line, to Loft Studios. Having entertained crowds across the globe with their unique brand of dark and sexy house influenced by everything from 60s psychedelic rock to krautrock, as well as gathering a firm following with work in the studio, 2013 looks set to be quite a year for the project. Joining the duo is Canadian Fairmont, set to deliver a live performance perfectly marrying the worlds of indie and dance music, transcending boundaries and keeping people dancing in the process.
Friday, 22 February welcomes Clockwork to the white-washed walls of Loft Studios for the launch of their new album, B.O.A.T.S. Released by the burgeoning label Life And Death, the LP aims to showcase the myriad influences of a duo who have made a name for themselves with their distinctive deep and brooding disco stylings, striving to differentiate themselves from an increasingly over-saturated market. Joining them will be fellow Life And Death label-mates Thugfucker and label boss DJ Tennis, marking this as a family affair from an imprint renowned for their unforgettable parties.
Thursday, 28 March sees Visionquest favourites Footprintz stop by to perform a live set as part of our Easter Special. The Canadian deep house connoisseurs are renowned for their sense of craftsmanship and attention to detail, with this meticulous obsession resulting in a performance unlike any other. They will also be celebrating their album release on the imprint with this rare London showcase. Joining them on the night, we are lucky enough to have confirmed some very special guests, No Regular Play. Refusing to conform to labels, bringing live trumpet instrumentation and vocals to their genre-bending live performance, this extends far past what one may expect from a live set. Matt Walsh completes the ecletic line-up, with the percussive techno titan sure to keep the dancefloor moving at a frantic pace.
The Loft Studios Presents looks to maintain the momentum of 2012 through to next year with an array of distinctive and intimate parties. Get out of the cold and enjoy the music.
