Earlier this year the Visionquest collective: Seth Troxler, Lee Curtiss, Shaun Reeves, and Ryan Crosson announced Visionquest Thirteen; a venture reaching beyond the typical auditory experience to explore multi-sensory encounters at some of the world’s most pioneering festivals and club spaces.

Visionquest Thirteen features showcases at much admired global festivals such as Glastonbury in the UK, Mysterylands Netherlands, Creamfields Buenos Aeres, Time Warp in Germany and Movement in Turin. The tour will also be transforming familiar club spaces such as fabric in London and The Warehouse Project Manchester as well as creating bespoke events in Ibiza, Paris, New York and within Art Basel week in Miami.

Each episode will engage insightful revelations from each individual in attendance that enhance the collective experience. The series of thirteen unique events will be the only opportunity to see these four artists operate as a cohesive unit, performing alongside cutting-edge artists from their Visionquest label family such as Dinky (who will release an album on the label later this year), Laura Jones and Tale Of Us.

“It was never meant to be the end. It was a transition. We are all new in this place and time.”

The number Thirteen appears throughout history within science, art and religion, often hidden within ancient myths and shrouded in mystery. From the Maya Long Count Calendar, to our prehistoric lunar calendar and the story of Sleeping Beauty, Thirteen is often found at the place where humanity seeks answers through reflection and a journey within.

These elements, alongside the Detroit parties that proved so inspirational for the four members of Visionquest, were the sparks that led to the co-creation of the Visionquest Thirteen project. The experiences they deliver will be collective expeditions into the depths of your soul, leading you forlorn into transcendent dream spaces that otherwise prove hard to reach in our modern contemporary world.

Other Artists featuring in the tour:
Wareika (live), Dinky, Tale of Us, Laura Jones, Cesar Merveille, Clarian, Bill Patrick and many more

History

vi*sion quest (noun) the ritual seeking of personal communication with the spirit world performed in many indigenous cultures in which an individual travels to an isolated area for the purpose of entering a trance, during which a life path or destiny is revealed.

Visionquest are…, Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss, Shaun Reeves and Seth Troxler, the most innovative and exciting new breed of musicians to emerge from techno’s birthplace, Detroit, in a generation. Together they make up a four-piece DJing and production outfit at the head of the much-lauded Visionquest record label, the epicentre of a collective of musical free thinkers pushing to make the next step forward in the evolution of electronic music.

Building on their already successful solo careers both as DJs and in the studio, Visionquest exploded into dance music’s collective consciousness during the summer of 2009 when they released their remix of Kiki’s ‘Good Voodoo’ on BPitch Control which went on to be on of the year’s biggest underground hits. Since then they have gone on to remix Tracey Thorn, dOP, D’Julz, Benoit & Sergio, Dinky, DJ Hell and most recently David Lynch. Individually and together they have released tracks on leading labels like Crosstown Rebels, Spectral Sound, Get Physical, Circus Company, Supplement Facts, Wolf+Lamb, Wagon Repair and m_nus and played the best clubs and festivals the world over, holding a much-vaunted summer residency at Circo Loco at DC10 in Ibiza.

This position allows them great insight into the modern framework of electronic music as it stands and countless lost nights together and apart have spawned a deep yearning for more. Visionquest Thirteen is the product of this yearning, seeking a more profound connection between audience and curator and opening up endless channels to explore.
